We are here

So here we are! This is it! Now I know nobody really wants to talk about the December 2012 thing, but not talking about it will not make it go away! Maybe we can look at some of the things that have been said and perhaps come to our own conclusion.

I will make a summary at the end of this post so you all know my standpoint, for what it’s worth!

I have always been quite interested in things like Nostradamus, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, The Celestine Prophecies, The Secret etc, tarot card meanings, and it is from some of this reading that I know draw my own conclusions.

The Myans

So this is the big one – the Myan calender!

I’m sure everybody knows by now that the myans were a mesoamerican civilisation that existed from  2000 BC up until around 250 AD. We know little about them apart from their interesting carvings and art and of course their world famous calender. They were, however, very good at astrology, which I will show the important significance of later in this post. So the Myan calender ends on the date December 21st 2012 and is the end of the 5th 125 year cycle (according to the Myans).

Nostradamus

I am a keen reader of the Quatrains of Nostradamus, I am sure everybody knows who he is!

There are 2 points to note here, the first is that in his prophecies he puts the end of the Earth at the year 3786 or thereabouts, in fact he states the last war will last for 30 years followed by 1000 years of peace on Earth, referred to as ‘The Golden age’. The second point is there is what they call ‘The Lost Book’ of Nostradamus which has no writing, but just pictures given to his son. There is a page in this book that shows the alignment of Ophiuchus, the 13th sign of the zodiac (one we no longer use) and the centre of the milky way Galaxy (our home) all in 2012. There is fear of a comet called Nibiru heading right for us which may cause all kinds of nasty stuff but not a total wipeout, but I have heard these things before including a scary one this year that did not even come close!

Astrology is an interesting thing because it shows up in all sorts of civilisations through history and time. I am not talking about a small paragraph in the newspaper that predicts all of our lives, but I DO believe that as beings of nature, and as a big part of this Universe, the planetary alignment does affect things here on Earth and the human psyche, as the moon affects the tides here on Earth.

Something will happen this year, but I don’t think it will be the end of the world, it may be the end of the world as we know it, and I think that it will probably be a good thing, I just hope the transition won’t be too painful!

Spiritual Mystics

The spiritual among us believe that 2012 is the beginning of a new age where we crossover into a new dimension. I don’t really know too much about this but I will investigate and post here very soon. I will ask my friends at Destiny Rising Holistic Shop and post here
